A true story from Pripyat hospital nurse – how she remembers night of 26th April, 1986

Apart from the infamous Rector 4, there is another place in Chernobyl zone which still bears harsh aura of the disaster night – Pripyat hospital. Its former worker, Valentina, will tell you the story of that night when first, deadly exposed and highly radioactive victims of the accident, started to arrive to the hospital wards.

Meet Valentina Ivanovna – Chernobyl zone resident. Today, she lives in one of the villages of the Chernobyl zone. She does gardening and loves fishing. Just like a forest fairy, she knows all the herbs and their healing properties. No wonder though – for many years she worked as a nurse in the Pripyat hospital. On that ill-fated night of April, 26th she was there too to cure the heavily exposed firefighters and Rector 4 staff. Hear her true story – one of the still living Chernobyl Heroes.
